Kit Studio is a Berkeley-based design firm that believes home is a feeling and good design has value.

Our mission is to create a sense of place, one that is personal and brings comfort and ease. Rooted in a deep respect for architecture, the studio’s design approach prioritizes the harmony between form and function. Our process begins with attentive listening and takes shape through thoughtful partnership.

The studio’s Principal Designer is Kit Chow. After over a decade of experience working at the Exploratorium and with clients like Google, Sephora, and Hyundai in museum exhibitions and events, she rediscovered her love for crafting deeply personal spaces that affect the daily lives of those who inhabit them. Kit’s interdisciplinary background has honed her ability to design unique experiences that tell stories and invite people to explore and engage with their surroundings.

She is an alumna of Harvard’s Graduate School of Design where she received her Master in Design Studies. Working with an extreme attention to detail and a knack for resourcefulness, Kit often characterizes her work as simple and clean, yet playful in nature. In addition to her work with Kit Studio, she enjoys juggling life as a mother of two young kids, who remind her every day there is beauty of imperfection.
